Changes

Monday, January 30, 2012 - 11:55am

At the December Capital Area Flex User Group meeting we discussed the future of Flex and the user group. The general consensus was that it made sense to change the focus of the group to mobile development instead of just Flex. Most of our meetings have been focused on mobile apps lately and that’s the direction Flex and Flash are headed. We will continue to meet at the same time and will still cover Flex in the user group, but will also include other technologies. We are going to rebrand the user group with a new site: http://www.dc-mobiledev.com

Moving newsletters

Tuesday, November 1, 2011 - 5:16pm

We wanted to let our users know we've switched to MailChimp to send newsletters. If you're currently subscribed to our newsletter, there's nothing you need to do. You can signup for the newsletter at this form. If you no longer wish to be on our newsletter you can unsubscribe from our newsletter here. We get a lot of advantages from this move including better reliability, emails that work on mobile devices, and more tools to manage our newsletter list.

Brand new features

Wednesday, November 3, 2010 - 4:06pm

We've just added two brand new features in time for our monthly meeting.

  • The first one is a brand new forum
  • The second is an iCal feed so you can add the user group meetings to your calendar

See you tonight!

Welcome to the new Flex Users Group Website

Monday, October 4, 2010 - 4:18pm

Everyone knows the user group website has long been a source of frustration for our user group. The links often didn't work, files were missing, and information was often out of date. This means that we often had to rely on our LinkedIn and Google Groups which were bombarded with spam. Well that's all changing. The new website is taking us forward with many new features such as:

  • Ability to easily sign up for the site, you can even connect via Facebook
  • Search archives with ease
  • View the event calendar and get information on upcoming topics
